Church was «Saint Paraskevija» [1898] [ destroyed]

The masonry church replaced an older wooden church from 1828

On January 23, 1591, the landowner, Katerina Waposka ordered that all of the people in Hludno and VAra would have to become Roman Catholics and that all baptisms would have to be performed by a Roman Catholic Priest. It is not certain when the Greek Catholic parish was reinstated, but in 1648 there is a mention that o. Oleksij Steckovych purchased the land for the church

In 1785 the village lands comprised 13.72 sq km. There were 450 Greek Catholics 200 Roman Catholics and 10 Jews

The village was incorporated in to the Lemko Apostolic Administration in 1934

In 1936 there were 8500 Roman Catholics and 62 Jews and 2 Protestants in the area
