Polany – Wieś w dolnie Wilszni, dawniej była nazywana jako Myscowskie Polany. Znajdująca się we wsi cerkiew pw. św. Jana Złotoustego wybudowana została w latach 1905-10 przy finansowym wsparciu miejscowych emigrantów mieszkających w Ameryce. Wzorowana na cerkwiach staroruskich, zbudowana na planie krzyża greckiego z ogromną kopułą pośrodku.

Church was «Saint John Chrysostom» [1914] [still standing]
The masonry church replaced an older wooden church which in 1899 had been reported to be in very poor condition. In 1927 about half of the village converted to Orthodoxy. After WW-II the village was Orthodox and then Roman Catholic.
In 1785 the village lands comprised 33.52 sq km. There were 3678 Greek Catholics 115 Roman Catholics and 11 Jews
